RnRMotion Boards and Lathe Threading
« on: August 12, 2023, 03:05:09 PM »
Hello all,

I am looking for a bit of help, I have an old Denford Starturn 4 (1990) that I wish to convert and as its a bit scruffy its not worth spending a fortune on so economy is the way forward.

My question, do any of the RnRMotion boards work with a lathe, e.g. can I input the spindle pulse for threading?
Thanks
YP

Sorry I don't think that board will do what you want. Here is a little info on it though.

Thanks for the reply, I checked out the page and as per all the ones I have looked at there is no definitive yes or no on threading but lots of general inputs.

I know I can use LPT port but that makes using a modern PC a problem.

Any suggestions welcome.

Or indeed the UC100

I'm not sure if the uc100 supports spindle input.
