New Member Introduction

Hi All,
Bruce Nye is my name. I live in Tasmania,  Australia.

CV? : Communications Tech, Hydro power station Operator, Technology and Computer Graphics Teacher, presently - Technical Officer Fine Furniture University of Tas.
Hobbies: Aeromodelling, Single Driver loud speakers, "Making things" , "Living".

I have always had a keen interest in Technology. I was instrumental in introducing CNC router technology into the school where I was teaching. Since then I  wanted to build my own machine for my own use and maybe keep me off the streets as I wind down and prepare my self for retirement in 10years! or so.
My machine is approaching the completion - all that remains is the Z axis to do. I have tried to make a solid accurate machine using THK linear bearings and high quality rack and pinion on X and Y Axis. The machine capacity will cope with 1900 (x) x 1250(y)  x  280(z).

My life-long aeromodelling interest have  been one of the driving forces behind building this machine. The machine will be able to CNC moulds used to build F3B high performance Gliders for me personally and the team that I fly with.

The first major project that I intend for the machine is a "Teardrop CamperTrailer" for my wife and I. The CAD has been done, all I have to do is finish the machine!

Regards,

Bruce

Hey Bruce,
Glad to have you. How about posting some pics of your machine. Sounds like you have plenty of work for it to do already.

Looking good Bruce. If you could resize the pics to 600X800, that would be great. Most want be able to see it all at one time as they are.
