Reference all home after program ends
« on: August 02, 2021, 11:52:22 AM »
Hey all, I have been trying to search for a solution but haven't found anything that fits what I'm looking for.

I have a 3 axis cnc router that is running Mach3 and I am using Fusion 360 to create my gcode.

Sometimes the machine loses steps due to poor workholding and the operators don't know much about computers, so I'd like to make it automatically hit the "reference all home" button at the end of every program.

I've read stuff about using G28.1, but not sure if this is the best solution.

Also, how would I go about getting the correct G-code into my post-processor?

Loosing steps has nothing to do with computer literacy.
It does with your motor tuning and feeds/speeds.
Make no mistake between my personality and my attitude.
My personality is who I am.
My attitude depends on who you are.

The machine loses steps because sometimes the material I'm cutting rides up the upcut bit and jams things up.

Machine is in a production environment and I need a quick bandaid to get us through until I can schedule a PM.

I think I'm just going to train the operators to hit the ref all button before running a part. I just wanted to avoid adding another thing for operators to occasionally forget.

If your material is jamming your bit, rethink of  machining strategy.
