Slow backlash compensation with Servo drive
« on: September 30, 2007, 01:31:47 PM »
Recently I upgraded my Camtronics CNC drive from stepper to servo drive.  I now notice that when compensating for backlash it takes much longer than it did with the stepper system.  Has anyone seen this?  Can it be corrected or is it something that has to be lived with?

I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this.

THanks!

Look at general config, set you shuttle accel to .05 - .1 You may have to play wiht these settings for your machine, also, play with your backlash speed settings in backlash config.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks, Brett!

The shuttle adjustment did the trick.  However, I have no idea what this means.

Thanks again!
