Anyone have trouble with vcarve desktop v10 and mach 4 v 4300 with PMDX 411 smartbob , ERROR = cannot communicate with device.

That sounds like a communication error bewteen the PC and the PMDX-411.

Will the machine respond to MDI commands?

Agreed. This is highly unlikely to have any to do with Vcarve.

Most likely it is due to electrical noise disruption of USB communications between the PC and the PMDX-411.

The two most common causes are ground loops or electrical noise related to the spindle motor or its driver.

It will not reset until you close mach 4 and unplug/plugin smartbob
