Search what type of browser you use to turn autoplay of video off -
It will be hidden deep in the browser configs and switch it to manual -
When you find it and switch it remember that if you get a browser update it will switch it back
-

Using FireFox, looked all through the settings and didn't see where to select that.
Will look again a little deeper, might have to ask online.
Thank you,
Russ

How do I turn off video autoplay in Firefox?
Open up a new browser tab, go to about:config , and adjust these settings:
Set media.autoplay.default to 1 to disable video autoplay for all sites.
Set media.autoplay.allow-muted to false to disable video autoplay even for muted videos.

 :) Hey guys, thanks.
That worked .... sort of ::)
Restarted the browser, of course.
Now the vid is paused and muted automatically but is still loading as normal. (I can see it chomping on my gigs in the progress bar)  >:(
Thanks again,
Russ :D

 ;D
Actually, we recently got upgraded to dsl through the farm fencing. What an improvement !  ;)

Honestly though, what I dislike the most is all of the wasted screen space of the new layout. As screens get larger and larger, this utilizes less and less of it. Sort of like "wasted resolution" in a stepper system.
We could put one (short) line per page and invest in mouse wheel detent mechanisms. ;D

Mouse ?  You might have to gugle that  :D
It is pretty though. :)

Russ

;D Well not the best internet service for living in the good land........ cheap price to pay IMO....... makes me jealous.

We may be able to set it up so that each member can choose the theme they prefer. This would allow you to choose any available theme in your profile settings.

I keep my tabs open, and never go to the main index page, so I don't see the video.
And I always use the "Show Unread Posts", which can now be found by clicking on your name in the upper right corner.

And if you want to use the default theme go to you profile, look and layout and the very first thing is a place to choose the theme you want to use. The previous theme was the SMF default - curve. The current theme is Mach.
