Goofy forum layout
« on: March 27, 2019, 06:23:36 PM »
:) Is my system on the fritz again ? ? ? or has someone busted the forum ?
I get unwanted videos running that I cant turn off and navigation is much more difficult than before.
Thought I was in the wrong place initially ..... (maybe I am  ::) )
Thanks,
Russ

I too was thinking about commenting on the new format but there is an old adage "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all".
If the new format is better in some way I haven't found it yet.

Sorry Overload, I did not intend my comment to apply to you but was explaining why I didn't comment earlier.

 :) Hey, no apology necessary.
I agree, that's a damn good rule to live by.
But some times ya just gotta be tough and nice at the same time. :)

We are clearly in the same boat.
All I did was break the ice.  :D

We'll adapt .... we always do.

I just hate the automatic vids that eat up my gigs. To get ad bucks I guess, I understand.
I'm way out in the sticks with limited access.

Kind regards my friend,

Well, I can't take credit for it but I do like the way it looks. I have found some small issues but think they will be addressed soon. I'll see if they can add an option to disable the videos too. It's just a video from our youtube channel. I love it myself but can understand it eating up the gigs.

RC gets his interwebs through 2 cans and a string........... makes me jealous.  :) But not by much, mine isn't much different.
;D If you could see the things I have in my head, you would be laughing too. ;D

Actually, we recently got upgraded to dsl through the farm fencing. What an improvement !  ;)

Honestly though, what I dislike the most is all of the wasted screen space of the new layout. As screens get larger and larger, this utilizes less and less of it. Sort of like "wasted resolution" in a stepper system.
We could put one (short) line per page and invest in mouse wheel detent mechanisms. ;D

Mouse ?  You might have to gugle that  :D
It is pretty though. :)

Russ

Please give us the option to remove the video, or just put a link to your YT channel

The rest looks nice and tidy ,it’s clear and concise

Search what type of browser you use to turn autoplay of video off -
It will be hidden deep in the browser configs and switch it to manual -
When you find it and switch it remember that if you get a browser update it will switch it back
