I am running a Patriot Shopmaster VFD and I am trying to do some lathe threading. I am running a canned threading cycle and I have the spindle setup to use feedback sync via a magnetic sensor on the spindle. I have verified that Mach3 is reading the spindle speed correctly via sTrue and a digital tachometere to verify the reading. When I go to start the canned threading cycle the machine moves to the starting position, begins to move into the work and stops shortly before it does any cutting, almost as if it is waiting for some type of sync or input. It does NOT do this when I disable the feedback sync mode for the spindle but when I disable that setting it does not cut the thread correctly. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it? I can provide any other information necessary (I hope).
