Mach 3 Controlling Co2 Laser
« on: June 10, 2018, 11:24:45 PM »
Hello Folks,

I am trying to do some etching/photo engraving with my co2 Laser, I currently am using a post that converts my g code to have m3 and m4 commands through v carve, I would like to be able to put a photo on a piece of wood, is this possible through mach? should i use a different program or maybe get a laser B.O.B, ? Here is some info on my setup below also have attached .tap file and photos of wiring let me know what you think i am currently only able to cut wood at what seems to be 100% power

Hi Wes709,

The M3 / M4 commands are far too slow acting so the M10Px / M11Px commands were included within Mach3 (and the M63Px / M62Px within Mach4) specially for laser use.
This thread describes my exploits and may be of interest to you;   http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,12444.msg248511.html#msg248511

Although I have used Mach3 for laser reproducing photographic images for many years now, for me, the relatively new software Auggie seems to have taken over.

Tweakie.
