Jerking Motion - CV Mode
« on: August 23, 2017, 07:40:39 AM »
Hello everyone!

I'm not sure where i should put this post to, but the problem is so general that it seemed appropriate for me to put it here.

We are having some struggles with our milling machine and can't work out what is wrong with the machine or setup.

Actually we are working with Mach3 Software in Combination with a CSMIO-IP-S motion controller. The motors are Panasonic Servo drives with quite a lot of power, so definitly not the limiting factor here (I ran it in the Configuration program with up to 50.000 mm/min without any issues).

The problem seems to me that the cv mode is not working at all. We thought of any solution or problem such as slow connection and so on but in the end we could isolate the error to this behaviour:

Even for a straight line with several points on the line and slow feedrates the machine seems to slow down for every point although CV mode is on, or accordingly exact stop is deactivated by G64 in the Gcode file.

I will upload the configuration as soon as I get the corresponding screenshots, but maybe someone can already find an error from the gcode.

Here is the corresponding gcode for testing:

Turn off all of the CV options. CV Distance, CV Feedrate, ...

Ok, we will do so, and hopefully I am able to upload the options screen today!

I will uncheck:
CV-Dist tolerance
Stop-CV on angles
CV-Feedrate on the main screen

Any further options i should uncheck?

All of the options on General Config.
Stop CV on Angles is really the only one you need. Set it to 89.

I already found the solution thanks to your hint. I allways thought that CV-Distance Tolerance and CV-Distance would be the same for the options menue and the settings screen. But as you also only wrote CV distance I read the CV document another time and saw that this option is located on the settings screen as already mentioned. Unchecked it there and now the Machine works great again!!!

Thanks a lot!
