if I change your file to :" Code "G0 Z-10" 'Change the Z retract height here
While IsMoving()" So minus 10 in stead of positive.Z goes down. makes contact. goes up (so hurray) but drops down again !!?? so strange

Yeah, I tried to measure it. I start out 175 mm (roughly measured) over my router-bed. I zero the Z-axis in the MDI window.
I run auto tool zero, and make "contact"  as close as I can at -/0 10.0000. Z drops 10 mm. If I re-measure the endresult, the Z-axis is 155 mm above my router-bed where it should have been at 175

Hi Fred,

Your Z axis should be going down during the line      Code "G31Z-50 F" &ProbeFeed

Then it touches the plate, stops then the Z axis goes up during the line    Code "G0 Z10" 'Change the Z retract height here

Are you using a the Parallel Port or a motion controller ?
Which version of Mach3 are you using ?

Can you attach your .xml file.
This file is in your Mach3 folder called <your profile>.xml  copy and rename the copy to fredmens.xml before attaching using the Reply and Additional Options tabs.

Hi Fred,

The .066 version of Mach3 may be causing the issue but there is also the possibility that the XHC controller is not supporting the G31 command properly.

Download and install Mach3 version .062 ftp://anonymous:guest@ftp.machsupport.com/Mach3/Mach3Version3.043.062.exe (this can be installed over the top of your existing install). As a precaution make a safe copy of the <your profile>.xml file which contains your machine settings.

Muy fantasico, thanx a lot .

It work a lot better, not correct yet, but now it must be a matter of details.

Z goes down after dwelling. Hits the probe, goes a bit up, comes down and hoovers above the probe at about 5 mm height stating Z axe is zerod and showing 10.0005 at the DRO (it should say 29.4 if it was 10 mm above the probe)

After installing the mach3 older verison  i copied the xml file, the licence file and the screens like the 1024
