Continuous jog stays on
« on: June 08, 2016, 07:01:28 PM »
I hope that someone might be able to help me on this. Just set up my Grizzly G704 with mach3 and ball screw conversion. Program is installed and motors tuned. Had issues trying to get soft limits to work (never could) but now have installed limit switches and they work as they should. My main problem is that sometimes when I continuously jog (doesn't seem to matter what axis) the jog will stick on and the only way to stop it is to hit the E Stop. I can then reset and it will work fine for a few more times. It is very unpredictable and I find that I have to keep one had on the E stop all the time. I thought that maybe it was my keyboard (wired) but I tried another and it did not make any difference. I have not tried to run a program yet but I am a bit worried about this happening while trying to make a part. One other issue is that if I do not hit a jog key within 30 seconds or so I have to either hit the reset button (even though it is not flashing) or switch to another window before the jog keys will work again. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.   Bud

Has anybody else experienced these issues and possibly came up with a fix?

Yes I reported this a couple of years ago and a lot of other people verified that it happens with motion cards of all kinds including smoothstepper.
