I have a USB SS plugged into a CNC4PC C23 board.  It has never been hooked up to any devise.  I found that everything on the C23 works EXCEPT for the X axis step (pin 1 output) while inputting manually through Mach3 or the direction keys on the keyboard.  I finally sent the C23 back to CNC4PC and just got it back.  I haven't heard back from Arturo yet whether a fault was found or not but I am getting the same symptoms as before. 

I have pin 1 port 1 assigned to the X step.  Measuring the voltage on the SS pin 1 delivers 0.87v  while the step pins for Y and X axis deliver 1.125v. 

My question;  what is the output voltage of the SS supposed to be and could this be the issue with the X step not functioning?

Are my pin assignments incorrect?

I exchanged quite a few emails with Arturo before sending the C23 back for him to test.

It does not answer your question but it is usual to ignore Pin1. The motor outputs are usually set as X Step & Dir 2-3,  Y 4-5,  Z 6-7,  A 8-9

Thanks, Tweakie.  You made me examine the C23 board more closely.  I was drawn to the arrangement of the LED indicators on the C23 as they are paired on the board... 1,2 - 3,4 -5,6, etc.  It confused my wee brain.  Sometimes you can't see the forest...

Pin assignments are shifted and I can now begin laying pathways for the herds of electrons to invade unsuspecting, far off stepper controllers.
