Master Axis and Slave Axis out of sync
« on: February 26, 2016, 03:15:06 PM »
Let me preface by saying I am an extreme novice with CNC software. I purchased a routing table with mach3 yesterday off of craigslist and was able to get it to run ok, but have been plagued by a slave axis that is about a second behind the master axis. I have been through different pages on this forum already in an attempt to solve the problem but so far have been unable to do so. Any help I could get would be immensely appreciated.

Does one side start moving before the other?
Can you explain in more detail exactly what happens?

Go to the Motor tuning and make sure the steps/unit are the same for both the master and slave axis, and make sure the homing speed is the same for both master and slave in Config > Homing/Limits.

Yes one side begins to move about a second before the other. I have checked the tracks, all motor connections and even switched motors, thinking a motor may have been bad. None of these have fixed it. I have also gone through motor tuning and made sure everything is equal and got nothing as well. I am about to try the other thing you suggested

It does this in both directions, however at higher speeds the Y axis will jump back and forth before actually starting.

I would guess that it's very unlikely that this is a Mach3 issue. Sounds electrical or mechanical to me.

Are all couplers/setscrews tight?
