Mach4 ESS Homing
« on: February 01, 2016, 03:18:14 PM »
Hello, everyone. I'm a CNC newbie and I need some help. :'(

I'm trying to use the homing but doesn't work. I have a Mach4 V4.2.0.2686 with a ESS (plugin V1.0.1.132). I connected the home sensores and configured the plugins input of the ESS and Mach4, clicked the "Ref all home" button on the "program run" tab but only moves one axis but the DRO doesn't change and it doesn't do anything else. I also tryed with the "Ref X", "Ref Y" and "Ref Z" buttons of the "machine diagnostic" tab but no different result. I noticed that the axis moves up to the home position, the home sensor detect and  the Enable Button of the Control Panel stills enabled, I think that Mach4 is waiting for something.

Is there anyone that had a similar problem? Any hint to solve this? Thank you!

Have you setup your homing in the ess config, there is a tab for homing.

Thank you, Daz! Yes, every axis with the respective motor.

I/O tab
  Port1-Pin10 -> XHome
  Port1-Pin11 -> YHome
  Port1-Pin12 -> ZHome

Homing tab
  Motor0 -> XHome
  Motor1 -> YHome
  Motor2 -> ZHome

I saw that you had some videos on youtube about homing and Mach4. Maybe I have the answer there

Thank you, Daz!! The problem was obvius as I expected. The Backoff Velocity in the ESS config was extremely low.
