So will XP not work as well as 7 ,8  and 10 ,the reason I ask is I have lots of XP boxes in the dead computer cupboard .Will they run slow or what ,they all exceed the minimum requirements plus XP is easy to tame .This is win 7 I am on at the moment just rebooting is a pain with (windows has operations to perform) waiting, waiting ,waiting ,I have never been able to stop it ,8 will never go on one of my computers for more than 5 min its just plain horrible , I don't know about 10 I don't see it as being supported.

it depends on the computer some will be ok some not there is a reason why.

yes win 10 is better than 7, 8, 8.1 it`s faster, it has the old and new start menu you can have it look like xp or 7 or 8 it is over all better microsoft listened this time, but as it goes with microsoft 0ne crap, next one better the one after good.

just test them running big files if they can run good all good, but it would be better to get a new computer to start with. I did for my big machine it made a differences, for my small one I am making do with a old xp computer it run`s ok for now.

Thanks blockhead I did some limited testing in demo mode didn't use more than 5% cpu on anything I have done .Not sure what a big file size would be but I made the step over .03mm in vcarve pro and recalculated some raised lettering, that took five min to load into mach4  and was then using 70% cpu while loading ,is that what you mean by slow ,it seemed to cut air alright at maximum speed of the mil ,would break bits if it was cutting steel at that speed.
