Probs with RoutOut CNC Mill 2000
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:32:43 PM »
Hi  Need some advice.

I bought a second hand Routout cnc mill 2000. It was shown to me as working when i collected it. But I cant get it to do anything.
Literally, wont move a titch.

I got it because I heard RoutOut service was good. But they dont want to know. Just suggested buying another copy of Mach3.

I just dont understand whats up. I have set it up per instructions but it wont initiate. Any idea where to start?

Regards
Mike

Check Config in Mach that a PP is defined. Also run the Driver test.

The driver test comes out ok. at least it says it has taken over the system and has a decent wave form. What is a pp?

Mike,
My experience of Routout CNC was that their service was excellent, I needed a part for an older model control box and they were able to find me a direct replacement which was very reasonably priced, I'd done the fault finding and identified the part required though.
I'm not surprised that they may not want to get involved in remotely fault-finding a second hand machine/PC/software, imagine how much time can be spent in a year helping people with second hand kit who will never spend any money with your business.
This is definitely the place for free support of second hand equipment ;-)
Regards,
Nick

Hi Nick.  I defo agree with both your points.  With routout, all I wanted was the pin assignments. I got the off the seller in the end.
Im very excited to get this machine running and learning cnc. I currently use a very good 3d printer. got to keep the mind active.
Thanks to all those that help. even if its not me you are helping, I thank you. ps happy fathers day all.
