csmio/ip-a communication problem
« on: April 27, 2015, 06:24:32 PM »
I have  a csmio/ip-a  i can not get it to communicate . I run firmware uploader it says " no device found " .when i click on plug in comtrol  in mach3 it says "csmio not connected. i have it connected direct to the computer with the crossover cable. there is nothing connected to the csmio except cable and the power. i turned the power on then waited to connect the cable , but i get the same thing.I have spent more time then i want  trying to get this to work .the computer is not connected to the net , but i brought it in from the shop to download thefirmware and Microsoft NetFramework 3.5  . ithis thing is about to end up in a corner .

have you set the ip-adress of your PC ?
csmio has notmaly 10.1.1.2.
is your PC in the same network (depending on IP adress)?
can you oing 10.1.1.2 ?

anything is possible, just try to do it.
if you find some mistakes, in my bad bavarian english, they are yours.

got start -> run  enter cmd
cmd box showes up

in this cmd box type:  ping 10.1.1.2 + Enter

then you should see that the csmio is reachable or not.

i dont understand what you are saying"got start -> run  enter cmd
cmd box showes up". also why are you saying 10.1.1.2 for the ip ,in the manual it says to enter 10.1.1.1

Okay I did the ping test . ip 10.1.1.1  4 sent  0 received  4 lost
                                    ip  10.1.1.2  4 sent  4 recives 0 lost

this just tells me what i already know, there no cumunication

ok not realy.
your PC is set to 10.1.1.1
CSMIO is set by default to 10.1.1.2

and the ping for 10.1.1.2 says 0 lost, what means your pc can "reach" it.

can you open a cmdbox again and try a IPCONFIG + enter ?
are you sure that you have installed CSMIO software for the IP/A?

I have seen them flashing when i turned the power on. I just got off work ,later I think I will connect the computer to the net and down load the software. maybe there is a problem with the disk.
