Attach your xml and I will take a look, cant think what would be the cause of that.

Sounds like your Z is set up to go the wrong direction or possibly you are just homing it in the wrong direction.

If you look lower right on the screen in Mach you will see the name of the profile you are using. Close Mach then go to the Mach3 folderon your drive and look for a file of that name with a .xml file extension. Copy it to your desktop and rename to MikeIrvin.xml then use the additional options button on the reply page to attach it to a post.

Sorry ignore this,  posted in the wrong thread.

Seems to work fine here, if I open your Mike profile, uncheck the Max mode, shut down and restart then it is still unchecked.
Try that and see if it still comes up checked, if it does then look at the xml properties in your Mach3 folder and see if for some reason it is set to read only.

Not sure what you are meaning but think you are saying if you change to Max unchecked, restart Mach then its fine, but if you shut down your computer and restart then when you open Mach iMax mode is checked again. Is that what you are meaning?
If it is then I think you must have something that sets the computer back to original state each time you close down, there are many programmes that can do that and possibly even can be set in recent Windows versions.

Regarding the editor, it is most likely that Mach is looking in the wrong location for notepad, you can change where Mach looks on General Config page.

1  Start program   max nc 10 unchecked      not working
2  check max nc          not working
3  restart mach3   max nc checked       not working    dro's move steppers  x y  make a noise  but not Z
4  uncheck max nc       all  works fine    but need to re assign home switch pin numbers  the limit switches are ok
5  close mach3 and restart 100 times   working
6  reboot computer   Not working
This happens on both computers  One a dell and a gateway and always did .

the editor i now understand  Thanks
