hi all,
just tried to update to rev 2.057 from 1.84.... after it got done couldnt turn spindle on or off, or jog motors, looked at diagnostics, no lights blinkin on the pins when i tripped limits... so i uninstalled mach3 and reinstalled rev 2.057... still no signals..
then i reinstalled 1.84 , and everything works..
machine is a homebuilt with a emachine running xp.. not great, but fun to learn on.
i just dont understand why the rev 2.057 mach 3 doesnt work.

 I had the same problem but it was not the software i just updated to Rev .057 machine did not move The real problem was i had to reinstall my printer port driver So just a quick
thing to check out. That solved my problem

the printer port driver for mach 3 ?

hmm i thought that it automaticaly installed that... there was a check mark in the installation to do that

Also, did you uninstall Mach before you tried to install the new version?

i installed over the existing version, then when that didnt , uninstalled and installed rev 2.057, then that didnt work, so i installed 1.over that... if your not supposed to install over the old rev the installation program should say that instead of " do you want to upgrade the existing installation"

This is probably not the case so just ignore this,
but the earlier versions of Mach would keep my configurations...so when I installed a newer version of Mach I didn't have to turn on my "Ports and Pins","Motor Outputs" and other things...than recently... after installing an updated Mach I will have to reconfigure everthing after ever new install.....ummm it took me a day to realize the reason my motors weren't turning is cause I hadn't enabled my X,Y,Z outputs  just thought I'd mention this cause I made the mistake...but I'm probably the only knuckle head to do this

Hi guys, hope you can help me. I downloaded mach 3 from the net but can't import any drawings. In the file menu there are no import command. Please help

Hey Scotty, you have to import into lazy cam and generate your code there. Then you can open the code in Mach.

ok, got back to my machine and loaded in mach 3 rev 2.060
same problem
checked my port number .. its 378 same as mach3 port number
ran driver test, it takes control and has a straight line in the 38000 range
but still no motor action, or limit switches light up , ( they do light up on my breakout board leds)
under the diagnostics screen pulse frequency is 0
clicked and ran the original driver bat file, no change

if i look at my ports under xp hardware i have , as i said before, a lpt port with a resource of 378
i'm sitting here feeling i'm chasing my tail.. this system works good with 1.84 , i dont understand why the lpt port doesnt like 2.0
aany ideas ?
