Homing
« on: March 19, 2014, 11:19:39 PM »
Hi,

I have noticed that after I run the IAI servo that after the first run it starts to go to a different home. That is it seems to offset itself as much as a cm, sometimes a mm after each run.

But it does always go to the proper home once I run M7 and M9 commands using MIDI ALT2.

Has anyone seen this kind of behaviour?

Thanks,

Will...

I have only ever seen deadly accurate homing.
Which controller do you have?
If the IP-A or I-S are you doing Index homing or are you just homing to switches?
If switches how accurate are your switches?
If you attach your xml I can try and see if I can find a problem.

Could be coupling / mechanical slippage.

Hi,

It seems that I didn't properly understand how the IAI "homing" was being done. Below is a better description;

The IAI robot does not return to the original position when you send a move command like "X20.0" > "X0.0".
It is not "Homing". Generally, homing means looking for the home position using sensor or motor torque limit. In our system M7 is the homing command and it works well, "SOMETIMES FAILS". (M9 is reset homing command).

Could it be that the problem is that ISI robot moves at a different duration with same pulse command which is send from CSMIO?

As for the XML, do you have an email address I can send it to?

Thanks,

Will...

I am sorry I dont nderstand what you are meaning regarding the homing.

You can attach the xml here, just use the additional options button on the reply page to attach the xml. You will need to either zip it or rename it if it is one of the default names as the forum only accepts a file name to be uploaded once.

I am sorry I do not understand what you are meaning or attempting to do.
You mention M7, where does that come into play? I presume you have code in the M7 macro? What is that code?
