Just out of curiosity, close Mach, go to the Mach3 folder and double click on OriginalDriver.bat , then try to run the driver test.exe directly from the Mach3 folder.

Other than that, it might be a 7 thing, others will hopefully help.

Russ

No dice.  There was a window associated with originaldriver.bat that said something about it being for Windows 2000.  Don't know if that's a problem or not.

Is there anyone on this forum that has successfully used Mach 3 with Windows 7?

My problem is that I can't get drivertest to run.

I have ... no problem. Then went to an external controller for enhanced speed.
Hang in there, you'll get sorted.

I am still curious about you saying YOU rebooted the first time, it should be automatic with Mach doing the reboot and nothing you can do about it.

Can you attach your xml.

I would also disable Norton to see if that makes a difference.

Try this.
Go to the Mach3 folder - locate the driver test file.
Right click it.
Select Run as Administrator.

Windows 7 can have some odd file privileges that inhibit some files from running easily.

That was it John.  I ran it in admin mode and it came right up and started working.  wow
Thank you all for the help.  I'll see you again when I run into the next issue.

BTW Hood, although I'm from Portland, Or, I've been to Carnoustie and played your wonderful golf course.  Beautiful part of the world.
