Communication Lost / Error 777
« on: March 10, 2007, 02:50:36 PM »
Downloaded the new firmware this morning and reinstalled.. Now mach finds the Grex but it does not hold the connection. It initializes it and starts working, the dro start changing then the G100 Status dialog pops up and the Status bar says Com Error, Communications Lost. In the G100 Status Box gives a ecode=777

This is direct connected with a crossover cable.

I am also getting this same error and was hoping someone might be able to help with this.

Here are some screencaps of the two messages I am getting from Mach3 v2.41:

Anybody know what is causing this error?  ???

Hey it works now! ;)

I don't know what I did to fix it though... sorry I can't pass on the fix to this. The only thing I did differently was try to ping the grex - which was successful. That and I moved the grex from a wooden tabletop to a metal surface, but I doubt that made the difference. It's a mystery.  :-\

I was getting this message reliably along with difficulty initializing once this occurred. Got a new Rabbit and problem was solved. I still have the old Rabbit and it reliably and predictably continues to fail. Gecko has indicated a very small percentage of the Rabbit mini-computers demonstrate networking/ communication trouble.

Also see 'G100 crashing' thread for related symptoms and additional info.

I am at this same point, where mach recognizes the g100 then gives the message communication lost.
was a solution determined for this?

I can't remember for sure, but I think you are still having a network issue. How are you connecting to the G100? Through a cross over cable straight to the PC? Are your IPs set to static?

I have the ip address set to 192.168.1.100. If I ping 192.161.1.10, I get happy results. 0% data loss.
This leads me to believe that I have stable comm between the pc and the g100.

One possibility is that I have loaded the wrong firmware into the g100.
The instructions were a little vague on that point.
I'd like to try to re-load, but I can't seem to find a procedure for this.

Now, If I use the g-rex loader, I can't get to the html screen, I only get a blank browser.
I'd like to back up and start again, if I can figure out how.

If you have the address set to 192.168.1.100 and you ping 192.168.1.10, your not pinging the G100.

What instructions are you looking at? The G100 Set-Up Guide? Reload is the same as load.

I have sent you a personal message.
