SET UP ON A HP COMPAQ AND ERROR MESSAGE
« on: October 17, 2013, 11:25:55 AM »
I have a hp compaq running windows vista business edition my bios screen looks nothing like the one on the initial set up guide ( for the geckop 540)

and when it comes to bios I have no idea what i'm even looking at. When I try to run the test driver for mach 3 (from watching tutorial video) I get (no driver sensed installed. run test driver) error message. When the gecko is powered up I initially have red light then if I reset the e-stop I have a green light. And I hear the motors click when its powered up. After it runs for awhile it goes back to fault.  help please heard this was easy it sure has not been , been at it for a week now.

Just a NOTE but I would find another PC other than "VISTA" It has been a nightmare at BEST.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Is your Vista 32 or 64bit? If the latter then you cant use the parallel port, it only runs on 32bit operating systems, if wanting to use 64bit OS you would need to use an external controller.
