5th axis set up
« on: October 10, 2013, 04:29:52 AM »
Hi,
I am looking at setting up a 5th axis (table type) but cant find any info on setting the axis planes in mach.
whats happening is that when I program in my cam software the emulation looks perfect but when I import the G code into mach it looks weird,so im wondering whats going wrong?

from what I can tell Mach wont run more than 3 axis in the graphics window although the code should be correct assuming the machine parameters were set up in the cam package?, i.e. a revolving on x axis and b on y and assuming the +- is correct ?
Does anyone know why the fanuk post ,produces code that skips a and uses b&c instead,is that so a axis is always differant from a trunnion setup?

As far as I remember Mach can display X, Y, Z and A but not B or C.

The posts are developed to run the machine AS it is setup.  The normal abc designation is for the A to run parrallel to X and B to Y and C to Z on a normal setup as rotary axis's.

Mach3 not having WORLD jogging makes it tough to run 5/6 axis code .

Just a thought, (;-) TP
