Help a newbe! archs not working!
« on: October 09, 2013, 12:41:16 AM »
Hello everyone,

I am new to all of this CNC stuff but..., I have a SiegX3 converted and running very well. X & Y @ 25ipm and Z @ 20. All is smooth and accurate. Could run faster but not yet.
First; my system: Gigabyte MOBO, AMD FX64 2.8GHz, 2GBmem, running XP sp2.
I use TurboCAD Pro16 with the CAM Pluggin. The default CNC setting is FAUNC.

I can mill all kinds of lines or paths or text with no hiccups.
My problem: I am trying to mill a path and when TurboCAD converts everything to G-Code the pictures are different between what TurboCAD does and what MACH3 does.
I am sure it is a settings thing but I don't know enough about G-Code to understand what is going on. Below is the code and when it shows in MACH3 there are extra circles
running around the origin that shouldn't be there and, the archs aren't right either they are straight lines instead.

It looks like you need to look at the post as the code is not correct you have no G02/G03 on the lines N9 - N12, N14, 28,43,61,74 and 75

Um so I need to add the code G02 to those lines with the I & j cords?, So if I understand I need to figure out where in the TurboCAD/CAM program settings that will set that up automatically. Does anyone here use TurboCAD/CAM and know where I can configure that? If I do more files that are a little more complicated I think it would be a pain to rewrite all the G-Code all of the time.

Try using a different post for any Fanuc, Hass, Secos or Yasnak control model that is listed and see if it gives you similar looking gcode but with the correct G02/3 in the code.

Then you can compare the 2 posts and see why the Fanuc is not putting them in.
