Im curious do some of you have your XY axis set differently then your Z.
My X and Y  I can set allot higher than my Z . If I try setting my Z as high as the others Z falls on its face. But im worried in a maching oppeation x & y will lose steps if I set them hat high.

As far as Mach is concerned you can have the motor tuning for each axis different.

Hood,
Will setting axes differently have a negative effect on CV mode and/or feed rate?

All three my steppers diver and power supply is the same.

I understand I can have different motor settings and lets say I set Z low and XY up higher. If my Z is falling on its face because it has more of a load will X and Y do the same when they have a larger load on them when its time to cut a piece?

John,
shouldnt do although there were reports with the Z being considerably slower than the X and Y and doing 3 axes simultaneous moves that the Z could stall, cant remember the exact details but it was if I recall only if the Z was really slow compared to the others.

Its possible but that is why with steppers you should find your max then back off 10 or so percent.
