Also because where the connectors are made nowadays tends to have a lax quality control, then again the people who get them made tend to want the very cheapest so that they can sell at the most profit and thus it is understandable why QC is low.
 I recently got a ribbon cable that had the DB25 on one end assembled correctly but on the other end the shell had been assembled wrong, took me a while to see why it was that I could not seem to get it plugged in. Then I noticed the side with the 13 pins was the short side on the shell and vice versa :D

Hello Everybody
I now have a fully opperational machine. Last night i machined two bearing supports for a frend who is building an anomometer. Imilled two round pockets  and both times the bearing fitted in with a few light taps.
Am I ever pleased. The diameter was with in 1/100 mm of the correct size and no flats any where to be seen on the curves.

Thank you every body for your advise and help.
Now I have to fit all the guards.
I will post a few photos when it is all complete.
