Mach 3 mill overwrite ?
« on: March 21, 2013, 06:37:23 PM »
Hi ..I currently have a demo of the mach 3 mill version 3.043.22  and am interested in buying a licence and NFS add on ..Should i update to the new version Mach3 R3.0430.66 .Will this overwrite my older version so I can keep all of my settings ?.eveyrthing seems to be working fine but i do want to update ...The mill ,PC and controllers almost Ready to run was just recently purchased used with mach 3  mill installed ..I installed limit switches and did fine tuning ..Is it that big of deal to install Mach 3 from scratch ..Im concerned that if I go for a reinstall of mach 3 ,my mill could be down for a while

I just recently purchased a version of bobcad v21 expressed and the tech informed me that they have a compatible version of mach 3 specific for their  software available..The only Problem is it will not overwrite my older version and I am not sure If I will end up staying with Bobcad software  ..The tech did inform my that the bobcad  version of Mach 3 was compatabe with other softwares as well...Regaudless of what version I get there are drivers available for bobcads cam software ..Any advice would be appreciated  Thanks very much Lou

Be very careful about being hoodwinked by BOBCAD they do have a reputation.

Thanks TP... ;D..Yes Used car salesman ..they already talked me into 6 months tech support ..Time will tell

I  Sent Scott at Artsoft a Quick Email and Got a quick reply. Thanks scott .
Yes ..He said that It will overwrite on condition that is running on a custom profile and not a default profile (Mach3Mill, Mach3Turn, or Plasma), but pretty much said that if it aint broke dont fix it ..So he recommended I stay with what I have now .
