Mach3 already has Probe Tip comp (X/Y).  Z is not required.

I think I have already done a 4th axis 3d routine. That is a simple one.

I have a simple creepy crawler Macro routine that is similar to the LinuxCNC SmartProbe Routine that I am testing but it is 3dsurface only macro. AND there is no assurance it will be stable as a  mach3 macro.

Stirling is the ONE that may provide the Complete 3d probing solution.  Probing Outside of Gcode in MACH3 is not easy to master. There be Dragons to contend with in Mach3 CB.

File conversion from inside MACH3 is WELL outside the scope of simple Wizards.  (;-) THere are already solutions for that available. It may be possible to create a wizard that gives you the OPTION to process the Points file into a STL using The Mach points converter. Then the final product would be a simple STL

NOW one problem with developement IS Mach3V4 will be totally different macro wise than Mach3. NOTHING macro wise should interchange.

I am just cleaning out some old macros and creating Wizards so they can still be used and be available THEN I will file 13 all the old stuff.

(;-) TP

TP,
Are the wizards posted that you have been working on or just for private use?

There is some cleanup yet to do and some more testing of moduals but they will be released Here on the MACH support site. Most of it is OLD stuff I have been running from macros AND command line input . It just needed some powder on the pig's face to make it sweet looking.

Yes they are real (;-)

Here is Turn Probe.  IF yall see something that needs to be added to any of the wizards please let me know. It is easier to work it out now than later. AND YES I know that is NOT a good picutre of a CNC lathe IF you have a good picture that needs to be used instead of the drawing SPEAK UP.

What type of probing are you interested in . I need to finish cleaning up and and add some safety codes to all of them.

Which wizard are you interested in?  Maybe I can finish that one first.

There used to be a probing plugin for Mach... I can't find it anymore? Is it not in the newer versions?

I used to be able to find it in my plugin control tab... not there anymore?

TP - Thanks for all your efforts on probing.  My interest is in having a general purpose probe wizard or screen that could be used for setups.  A fixture is great for making large numbers of items, but if you only want 3 or 4, it is helpful to be able to probe each work piece for location and orientation - esp if they are second and third operations.   The screen you show earlier in the thread seems to address the things that I want to do - link the probe results to offsets so you can just probe the part and run it.
