« on: January 28, 2007, 12:02:45 AM »
i have a taig mill with xylotex control and mach3. i am planing on getting a bigger mill or a router, when i do i want a closed loop system. i do not know if i want steppers or servos? if i stay with steppers and the lpt ports i know i can get a rogers machine second lpt and that will work? if i do not want to stay with the lpt can i is stall encoders and have it work the same useing either the nc pod or the grex? thanks in advance. greg

You will not get closed loop by either method, you will get semi closed loop though. For full closed loop I think you will need to go with a Galil but Brian would be the person to ask as far as that is concerned.
I would think you could connect Rons board via a pod or whaetever by hacking up a parallel port cable  but I am not 100% sure, but cant see why not.
