SKYY Tiki Torch Holders
« on: June 11, 2012, 12:46:59 PM »
Hi all,

Thought I'd share a fun little project with you. I made a set of "Tiki" torches from bottles of SKYY vodka (I'm a recycler, ya know?  ;) ) but needed a "stand" to keep them upright in case of a strong wind. Came up with using black ABS drain pipe and VCarved (wrapped) a nice little star design that I knew my wife would like. I did the flat part of the 4 bases on the router which worked out pretty well too but sorry, no pics of that part.

The only drawback is the porosity of the ABS drain pipe. It's not as solid as I'd hoped, but still worked out fairly well.

I have some pics of the setup and the finished pieces for you in this post and the next.
Dave

Very neat Dave, nice job.

(I had to Google 'Tiki Torch' because I thought you were making 'Petrol Bomb' holders  ;D )

Hey there, and absolutely you can have the code.

The wicks can be found on Amazon, but you can find them sometimes cheaper on ebay. http://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Torch-Replacement-Wicks-3PK/dp/B001O5NHK0

I'll PM you the Gcode for both parts shortly.
