Not sure what I have done but the spindle now works with the toggle button.  I have run a very short gcode and for the first time the spindle ran up.  Thank you.  The first time i entered M3 s1000 in the MDI screen it worked, since then I have tried a number of times and i just get the error message saying a limit switch has been triggered - no limit switches have been hit.

In answer to your question, I only have three stepper motors and the spindle - no other devices.
