Foam 2D with X Y Z A hot wire
« on: August 16, 2011, 07:58:57 AM »
Hi:

My machine is X horiz right, Y vert right, Z vert left and A horiz left. I don´t have B, C, etc. Usually I cut wings in 3D with Profili soft, which generates GCodes I cut via Mach3.

Sometimes I need to cut 2D profils designed in Acad in dxf. Lazy Cam only generates GCode with X and Y axes (with default pre processors) so in Mach3 I define A axis (horiz left) as salve of X (horiz right) but I can´t define Z (vert left) as slave of Y (vert right) because Z is main axe. I think I´m right.

Is it possible with Lazycam, generating a GCode with XYZA axis? X and A would be identical, and the same with Y and Z. ¿Perhaps with a foam 2D specific post processor?.

Thanks.

Edu,
Lazycam is the way it is and is no longer being developed so your on your owne.
Don't have the foggiest idea on how to change LC's post processor.

Might want to reconsider your axis assignments it would make it easier to deal with.  X/a Y/b

It does not matter what the board thinks they are. You make the axis assignments and slaving in MAch3 config pins/ports and slave axis settings

In pin assignments screen, Z line in blank, and what was there, write it in B line. Now you´ll have B axis and it will be able to slave to Y axis
