 hi guys
got my wire in for my limit switches today 22/2 shielded wire
which brings up a question on my break out board  i have (4)  5v ports to hook up limit switches plus one ground  going to hook up switches normaly closed i want to be able to ref machine cordnates home  or zero did i say that right
 i want to do soft limits on x y z axis, and home  x-- y-- x + but i have 5 pins 2 of the axis is going to share 1 of the pins   please advise
i havent ever used shield wire before. please advise
 im tearing my 16 ga speaker wire out that i have used on the limit switches im sure someone is getting a laugh out of that

Hi Mikee,

You can actually wire up all homing switches in series to one (1) input, and mach will know what to do with the order of homing. Z axis, X axis, then Y Axis will follow. The sheilding needs to be grounded only at the control box. The other end is left  undone as not to create ground loop issues.

You really wouldn't even need mechanical limit switches as the soft limits that are in Mach 3 work great.

  hi guys
 I'm going to look this up on enter net but still want feed back
? shielded ground on  limit switches 5 DC my control box is made out of mdf
 not sure where to GND sheild  on shielded wire
  i have wires and switched installed to N/C

 ok where do i send the pizza and beer im ready 
 i have home,  soft limits, everthing seems to working home travel speed was real slow i guess that is next
i have  green lights guys  we are ready to fly to the moon.  i sure put myself through hell
  , hooked shields to ground on power converter
 for sale 50 ft of used once 16 ga speaker wire
 wished i was smarter  and didnt have to ask so many stupid question 
the problem (internet router sending wireless signals,) download utility program, (unshielded cable on limit switches)

if there ever somthing i can do for either one of you

 always problems
 home, machine cords, Y axis will not zero. is  Always +1.000in.on  dro
i have watched the video on limit switches and homeing offsets  at least 50 times .
I have de refer axis . and home again.  once again the answer is right in front of me im sure im not seeing it
 my home switches work great . please help
