If you are meaning servo motor then it is the encoder count you use for the steps per unit calculation.
Would need a lot more info to say more.

You will have to give a lot more info for any help to be given.
Do your drives accept Step/Dir input?
What line encoder do you have?
What RPM is the motor rated at?
Any gearing between motor and screw?
Any electronic gearing in your drives?
What pitch of ballscrew?
