Mikee,

Shielded cable is best to use for limit switches and only ground the shield (screen) at the controller end.

Hi Mikee,

Don't worry about a thing - there is nothing that can't be sorted.

Have you worked out how to do it now ?

just now home and soft limits just call me super cnc router man  (no cape needed) lol
have Shields connected to ground on power supply  110 to 36 volts converter
i could go on about this speaker wire thing thinking of taking a pic so you guys can start a topic about us newbies and the stupid stuff we do. i think we all might get a laugh out of it
PS have 50 ft of slightly used speaker wire for sale free shipping.
P's was telling you about super glue. krazy glue with the brush dries clear is what i use . polishing super glue into a glass finish isn't as easy as it sounds .   thanks for asking about my cnc router if there is something i can do to help you get your Lazar going

Hi Mikee,

I don't think anyone would laugh because we have all been there, once or twice. In reality, everything seems so incredibly easy after we understand it.
A list of beginners mistakes may be an extremely good idea as it could help newcomers quite a lot.
Your speaker wire and the diagnostics LED's are not, I think, related as I have not got the diagnostic LED's to work properly on my system for the last 6 Months or so (they used to work once but don't any more).

nb. Have you thought about keeping Water Buffalo and planting Rice ?

Water buffalo, planting rice, thanks tweakie  ya pretty funny lol
Well I'm learning not near as fast as i would like. other words damn slow.

Kinda switching to (cam/bam lic)  and lazy cam now . I like mach3 addons but i really want to do wood carving leaves  flowers etc.  I was thinking of aspire V carve or V pro.  Which software do you think would be the best?
I'm starting on line cnc course hopefully i will learn a few things.
Your glass tube did you have it custom made?
Have you seen the hexapod cnc on u tube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=quN37YskoaM
mikee
ND.just think you could mount your laser on a hexapod and have the first laser powered butt blasting CNC. ;D

Hi Mikee,

I think the guys who sorted out that hexapod know buckets more about programming than I will ever learn  ;D

The laser tubes are made in great quantities in China however mine was bought in the USA and I believe it was actually made there.

I purchased VCarvePro earlier this year and it is just brilliant and so easy to learn. The down side is that it took most of my annual CNC software allowance to buy it. Unfortunately Aspire is out of my reach at the moment but that would be ideal  :'(

Hi Mikee,

Can't help with the lathe project - I know nothing about lathes  :'(

Still thinking about hexapods - it would be reckless to the extreme to have any machine in control of firing a laser and deciding the direction in which it is to be fired as even these little green pointer thingies are capable of damaging eyesight in an instant.
