No prizes, but who can suggest the best caption for this photo which I took this morning ? ( bugger has already been used ).

"Damn it Marty ! I warned you about fueling the Flux Capacitor with MOONSHINE !"

"Step 2: replacing the filament without breaking the glas."

This would make a nice water pipe :( :(
Really, I'm sorry for your laser.
Hope you'll get it back running soon.

Like the saying goes "HOLE IN THE HEAD" ???

Hi Guys,
Some excellent suggestions, thank you. ;D ;D
I should explain that this is a cheap China import laser machine that I purchased in that condition. There is (was) a fault with the HT unit and I suspect that the Service Engineer tried to remove the board without disconnecting the tube's HT cable first (wonder if he still has his job ?).

is that the reason supper kitty was wearing eye patch
i was just bragging on you to a friend about your super bug zapper
hope you are ok
mikee
not much land dam few cattle co.

hey tweakie
i found out that you cant use 16 GA speaker wire on limit switches will trip but will not light up in diagnostics screen (weird) to much Resistance
i think i could do a a book on not what to do.
possible i might be buying new cnc lathe i have not
started to look yet
thinking of finding a class or school on mack 3 cam /bam
ok im back to what every next i dont know
mikee
-
well i thought i had it fixed limit switches im going to have to post question grrrrrrr
mikee
not much land dam few cattle co. less land river is still going up making pondtune for cnc another 18 inches i will be sailing
-
Mikee,
Shielded cable is best to use for limit switches and only ground the shield (screen) at the controller end.
Tweakie.
-
how do i ground shield to ground the 36- dcv side
have you read the thing i wrote on limits switches
anyway
where are you at on lazer now
-
hey tweakie
it's plain to see that i had no idea about shielded wire or cable . how to use it,
gtting my but kicked.
mikee

Hi Mikee,
Don't worry about a thing - there is nothing that can't be sorted.
Have you worked out how to do it now ?
Tweakie.
-
yes i got it tweakie
just now home and soft limits just call me super cnc router man (no cape needed) lol
have Shields connected to ground on power supply 110 to 36 volts converter
i could go on about this speaker wire thing thinking of taking a pic so you guys can start a topic about us newbies and the stupid stuff we do. i think we all might get a laugh out of it
PS have 50 ft of slightly used speaker wire for sale free shipping.
P's was telling you about super glue. krazy glue with the brush dries clear is what i use . polishing super glue into a glass finish isn't as easy as it sounds . thanks for asking about my cnc router if there is something i can do to help you get your Lazar going
mikee river front land for sail

Hi Mikee,
I don't think anyone would laugh because we have all been there, once or twice. In reality, everything seems so incredibly easy after we understand it.
A list of beginners mistakes may be an extremely good idea as it could help newcomers quite a lot.
Your speaker wire and the diagnostics LED's are not, I think, related as I have not got the diagnostic LED's to work properly on my system for the last 6 Months or so (they used to work once but don't any more).
Tweakie.
nb. Have you thought about keeping Water Buffalo and planting Rice ?
-
Water buffalo, planting rice, thanks tweakie ya pretty funny lol
Well I'm learning not near as fast as i would like. other words damn slow.
Kinda switching to (cam/bam lic) and lazy cam now . I like mach3 addons but i really want to do wood carving leaves flowers etc. I was thinking of aspire V carve or V pro. Which software do you think would be the best?
I'm starting on line cnc course hopefully i will learn a few things.
Your glass tube did you have it custom made?
Have you seen the hexapod cnc on u tube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=quN37YskoaM
mikee
ND.just think you could mount your laser on a hexapod and have the first laser powered butt blasting CNC. ;D
-
Hi Mikee,
I think the guys who sorted out that hexapod know buckets more about programming than I will ever learn ;D
The laser tubes are made in great quantities in China however mine was bought in the USA and I believe it was actually made there.
I purchased VCarvePro earlier this year and it is just brilliant and so easy to learn. The down side is that it took most of my annual CNC software allowance to buy it. Unfortunately Aspire is out of my reach at the moment but that would be ideal :'(

hey tweekie
the robot fair in Osage japan way cool too.
i think there are people in here could build a hexapod laser cnc and program it
thank you for advise on software.
i want to make a specialized micro lathe would value your opinion construction material and design
mikee
-
Hi Mikee,
Can't help with the lathe project - I know nothing about lathes :'(
Still thinking about hexapods - it would be reckless to the extreme to have any machine in control of firing a laser and deciding the direction in which it is to be fired as even these little green pointer thingies are capable of damaging eyesight in an instant.
Tweakie.
-
Plus that's starting to get into Skynet type stuff, and we don't want that happening :p
-
i want to make a specialized micro lathe
Small or big a lathe is a lathe and you can use a hobby sized lathe with some attachments to function as a micro lathe.
Of course accuracy and spindle rpm needs to be provided for real small things......

Hey Rich
On the lathe i want to make compact billiards 2 piece pool cue shaft only lathe. i will start new topic

hey tweakie
yes I think it would a blast to make a hexapod cnc
tweakie i was just joking i wasnt trying to open a can of worms
