Ratary axix, works in Mach2 but wont in Mach3
« on: November 05, 2006, 11:40:17 PM »
Hello everyone.
I have this problem with my setup, I have a half step bipolar driver board (pminmo design l298-7) for my rotary axis. The driver apparently works.  It does work in my Mach2 setup, but if I use Mach3 it refuses, while testing in Mach3 if it actually sends steps/dir signals I connected another driver on the A axis and it had no problems, so pulses are being sent. I have tried this on WindowXP and Windows 2000 (I have dual boot) but the results are the same, meaning that In Mach2 the rotary axis spins, in Mach3 it wont. I have tried pulse width 1-5 with no change.

Any thoughts?

Thanks you.
Konstantin.

Hey Konstantin,
Do I understand this? While in Mach 3 your a axis will work with one drive but not the other? Or are you saying either drive works in Mach 2 and neither will work in Mach 3? Or either drive works in Mach 2 and only one works in Mach 3? ???

Hi, Konstantin

Try setting A axis Step Low Active to Checked, Some stepper cont, card's are sensitive to leading-trailing edge state change, Config, Port's pin's Motor Outputs.

Try this out, Chip

Thanks a lot, worked like a charm. Funny thing that I did changed the Active Low on direction only, thinking it was for the step pulses.
Thanks again.
