F5 (spindle on/off) and driver.
« on: March 19, 2010, 05:35:09 PM »
In order to turn off the spindle (F5 or M05), presence of the driver is required. (Mach3 version 3.042.033 and Mach3 version 3.042.038 tried. Actuality of the issue: not very - just on my simulating computer/laptop, the driver needs to be installed. Otherwise the spindle LED continues to blink).

Have just deleted the driver here and dont have that problem, not sure why you are.
Can you attach your xml and I will see if I can replicate.

here is the profile NB I'm running Mach3 on a laptop, i.e. Stepspeed technology, varying CPU speed.

Its definitely something in your xml that is causing it as I too get it with your xml but not with any others. Not found the problem yet but I will keep looking but its nothing to do with it being a laptop as this is a desktop I am simulating on.

Ok I take that back, I can now replicate it in other profiles. I didnt have the spindle output enabled, just had them set up for relays.
Couple of options I see, one is to install the driver and the other is to disable the spindle output on ports and pins.
Going to load an older version and see if I get the same issue.

Seems to be fine in older versions so can only think it is due to the spindle related driver changes that Art made recently.

I tried the virgin Mach3Mill profile. Turning on or off Config->Ports And Pins->MotorOutputs->Spindle "Enabled" causes the issue, respectively ceases it. I keep the driver installed.

Thank you for your assistance.
