Remember Settings
« on: January 25, 2010, 05:51:15 AM »
Is there a way to have Mach3 not reset to 9 9 9 each time you load a G-Code file?  The X Y is not so much a problem but with the same tool it would be nice once Zero is established with a tool unless you change the tool it would be nice to have Mach remember the last setting for Z.

There might be a reason for the reset but with what I have been doing it wold help a lot saving time in resetting Z each time you load a new job using the same tool.

Not really sure what you are asking but it could either be tool table you need to set up if you are calling a tool or if its just the G54 offset you are wishing to keep then General Config page and choose  persistent Offsets also look at persistent DROs, and Persistent Tools

I don't think mine alters at all when I load a file so it must be possible.
In fact I know it doesn't as I sometimes setup and then move the tool, load a file and it's still got the same zero position so it doesn't alter any of the dro's.
Are you sure there isn't something in you gcode that's telling mach to reset?

Let me look at that never gave that a thought.  I am generating the code with Vcarve so I guess it's possible.

thank you got the answer, Yes the Gcode is where this is happening.  I am using tool change ATC for the G-code and that will cause a reset and I nowknow why.

Thanks again.

It's probably the G43 tool length offset. I edited my post processors to not use it.
