Model Engine Heads
« on: January 24, 2010, 06:20:10 PM »
I thought you guys might get a kick out of the heads i made for a model engine project. It is a V4 with 5/8 inch pistons.
In the picture you can see the original castings next to the billet heads. The valves are 1/4 inch. It is hard to see but I also made a fancy air cleaner with the name of the engine engraved in it. Peewee

Stevehuck,
Thanks for posting. My kind of engine, straight pipes, fits in a drawer, and if it dosen't start, no big thing!
Looks like a fun project and more work than what folks would think. Nice work.

Thanks!  That is about a year and a half of work. I didn't concentrate on it all the time. There were a few distractions along the way. It is the first of many!

stevehuck,
I just try to do one model a year or so and need to be in the mood. The next one will be twice that. But you learn a lot when challenging stuff is attempted. What's next on your list?

Some of the kits as per this link:
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,13346.msg87780.html#msg87780

Current endeavor is a 1/3 scale S&W 44 mag:

For engines i will stay with the full size!
