A piece of black tape across the pulley is all you need. It works great. I just got mine up and running this week. It is not without its problems setting up if it is your first time (it was my first). It really will depend on your understanding of mach and its settings. You can do it. Everyone here will help you.

If you are using a reflective sensor, come black tape will do.  Make it so it covers 50% of the shaft. Mach3 just looks for the edge.


If it is a slotted disk, make sure the splt is not too small.
