Hi Klaus,
is it possible to move objects with more than one step with the keyboard arrows? Like holding down "shift" to move it at a faster rate?

Hi Jan,

you can move elements in different ways:
with the mouse by drag and drop
align elements horizontally and vertically to already positioned elements using the toolbar icons
by setting the position in the property dialog.

Placing elements with the arrow keys is for fine positioning. Setting the increment step I think wouldn't make it much more convenient.

Klaus

How about a way to constrain movement to either vertical or horizontal when dragging with the mouse. Perhaps a with hotkey.

I often find I want to move an object vertically but not lose horizontal position.  So I press the up arrow and wait for ages while the object crawls up the screen.  :D

Thats the same issues im having. Sometimes i even loose the controls behind other controls as well. Thats why the shift command would be great. Its doable the way it is. But it could have been great :)

Hello

I've made version V1.53a width the following addition. Select your element and move it, while moving press the L key. Depending on the difference of start pos and the actual mouse pos, elements are only moved to either hor or vert direction, the greater diff wins.

It is great, a bit more flexible moving of controls this way. I would appreciate if you would give the SHIFT+MOVE command another thought as well :) Anyways, thank you for Machscreen!

Hello MachScreen users!

A happy New Year to all of you.

MachScreen V1.54 is released and can be downloaded at http://www.kd-dietz.com/klausphp/index_eng.html

Fixes:
If data where changed and a file from the MRU was opened the file to be opened was overwritten, fixed

Changes:
made more robust against corrupted set files
if Alt key is pressed at start-time of MachScreen a cmd string is ignored, and all windows are placed on the master screen
Script length is controlled not to exceed 65535, if so, a warning message pops up
DRO / Slider format can have now a trailing text also
DRO format accepts now a %-sign
Syntax coloring switched on again, was (forgotten) off for debugging purposes

 Attention!
a feature implemented in version V1.53a has changed:
 Old
Lock movement to hor / vert. The direction is determined by the actual mouse pos to the start mouse pos press L
 has changed

 New
Toggle mouse movement orthogonal / random with icon. the direction is determined by the actual mouse pos to the start mouse pos toggle toolbar element right to selection toggle

I did this change, because I think, it is more intuitive / easier to find / use an icon, than use a hidden key combination

Hello Klaus.
Will it be possible to import the original Mach screen into your program and make hotkeys to all buttons? I tried this with Screen4 but not all of them worked. Will your program be a better choice for this purpose?
