running Mach3 demo version 2.0 since 2006
« on: July 20, 2009, 02:06:55 PM »
Let me clarify, my machine has never cut anything as I am finally getting finalized so I have had Mach3 demo version 2.0 installed since then.
My question is this:  Since I have tuned my machine to this older version of Mach3 what will happen when I buy a license and want to load up the latest version of Mach3?  Will I go through a very painful time this process or is it pretty straight forward in upgrading?

Thank you in advance,
Tom L.

Just download the latest version and install over the top of the old one and all should be fine.
You may want to copy the whole Mach3 folder on your drive to some other location just in case the worst happens but it is unlikely that it will :)

Thank you Hood and your advice will be heeded :) And such a fast reponse :) :)
By the By, I picked up a new Craftsman 2hp 11amp router (5.9 lbs) over the weekend and have one of two needed router brackets cut out of mdf so far and using Mach3 I will make some machine replacement parts made out of the HDPE that just came in the other day. So, I will need to run more tests beyond the demo limitations, it's all finally coming together.

Thank you again,
Tom L.
