Hi Guys:

Just to make sure you arent testing in the dark, I went to the shop and downloaded the 25-1 version and cut Grahams Boat hull program posted earlier.
It cut perfect.. ( REAL nice boat hull Graham..). I scaled it to .5 on all 3 axis to stress it some more by making it a shorter segment program. It cut very well,
so you should be OK to cut tests without too much worry, though Id suggest in the air first till your comfortable with that programs responce.

Ill try to post a photo of the cut piece later on. It turns out a very niuce smooth ( in this case spruce wood) sailboat hull.

Thx for the testing and the tap files. :)

Hi Art,
this looks like an interesting project - you never could resist a challenge !

anyway, I tried it on my router;
first thing I did to check everything was still operational was to jog the x and z axes away from zero, then pressed GoTo Zero.
This caused squealing motors, but strangely the DROS showed X,Z at zero but the AAxis at approx 30, I tried it a couple more times with similar results, just different values of A....

regards,
Rab

Hi Art,

Very interested in this development being a past user and lover of Quantum. However, for serious work I have been using the regular Mach to great effect. Having just come across this thread I thought I would give it a try on some of the 3D stuff I do. Unfortunately it fell over on the first attempt. The download , installation and startup all went well and I selected the Tempest planner, loaded a file and tried to simulate it but it came up with an error on the 6th line. The error said "An invalid argument was encountered"

I changed back to the normal planner and everything was OK. I tried this on two computers and both reported the same error. I have attached the file.

Rab:

Thx for the test. Ill try some angular tests tomorrow as well.
Cant understand why the squealing.. seems to repond to goto zero fine here, but it may be something to do with angualr motion,
I hadnt done much with the other 6 axis as yet, though I did verify operation a few times..

Hi Guys:

Thx for the testing and the files. Ive identified several bugs in the Z and arc/helix operations.
Also, I added Smoothstepper and other controllers to the output. Let me know how it goes,
all files submitted seem to cut fine..

Hi Art,

Just downloaded the update and I still have the error "An invalid argument was encountered" on the seventh line of the Nose Cone file posted in post #34. These are the first 9 lines: The line in red is where the error is reported.
