Help: My Step pin stay high all the time.
« on: July 03, 2009, 12:13:00 PM »
Hello,

My name is Amit, and I new to this softwere.
I build a simple CNC mechine. until now I build the X and Y axe, and i keep upgrade it all the time.
Until now I use turbocnc for windows, but this is very old and not easy to use softwere, so I decide to move to Mach3.

I start to config the softwere, but I have problem: my Step pin stay all the time high (or low if I config "Step low active")
For exmpale when I open the softwere, and enter JOG mode, in the begin the step pin is low, but when I did even one step, it stay high all the time.
Why this is happen? How I fix it?

Thenks a lot,
Amit Prigozin

Turn on the Jog Control and see if that helps, middle of main screen at the bottom, says Jog On/Off

Do you have the drive/motor connected to the axis? If yes what happens?

I connect the wire to my controller which connected to 4 leds, each led repesent a coil of the step motor.

the leds keep changing all the time without stopping, they move in the right order (CW/CCW) but they dont stop when the command stop

Have you tried putting the LEDs direct to the paralle port on the computer?
Do the DROs keep moving in Mach after you release the keyboard key?

I cheack the volatge with FLUKE, and the pin stay high all the time, it is not the controller.
What is DROs? this is the number the represents the axe postion? becuse if yes-so they stop when I realse the key, if not-so I dont know what is DROs...

Yes that is what I was meaning, so if they Stop then Mach is acting like it should, afraid I have no idea what to suggest next except try with a motor hooked up rather than just LEDs.
