If you have a multimeter put it on the buzzer setting if it has one, if not put it on a low Ohm range and just probe pin to pin from either end of the cable to see that each one goes straight through 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 etc etc.

Have you tried slowing the Vel and Accel way down to see if you can at least get it moving. Think to be honest it is a faulty drive board you have but everything is woth a try. I have looked at the xml and dont see anything majorly wrong so far.

Yes i have tried slowing and speeding up the motors.....makes no difference.

Is there anything i can check on the board?

dont think so, apart from trying  swapping the motors around which will only tell you if the motor is the problem. With these all in one boards there is no possibility of swapping drives around to see if the problem follows :(

Hi Stephen,

Unfortunately it may be the driver board as Hood has said (I hope it is not).
As it is only one axis at fault try testing the components associated with the failed axis - the 2 (large) current limiting resistors with a multimeter to make sure they are not open circuit, also check the 4 protection diodes to make sure they are not short circuit (low ohms in one direction and high ohms in the other - with motor disconnected of course). It would be a bit of tricky soldering but it is not out of the question to replace the TA8435 chip (cut off all the pins and remove them carefully from board one at a time then fit replacement to heatsink then solder pins). There is not really anything else on this board to go wrong.

Thanks for that tweekie, may be i can....

I have emailed the supplier and they have said they will send a replacement at no cost, so hopefully that will be okay.

One more question i have is if i wanted to run two motors from one axis, how do i do that, is it just a case of wiring two motors to the same axis? or is there a better way?
