Hello,
I am interested in try the Pokeys interface. How well does this board work is it as good as using the parallel port to control a machine?
Also, when using the Pokeks interface is the Mach driver reguired?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul, the pokeys is not a replacement for the motion control sent by the PP or any other device like the Smooth Stepper. It is a add on for additional IO, not motion though. I have one but haven't hooked it up yet. I understand it does preety good at what it was made for.
The Mach driver is required if your running from the PP. If your using the SS (maybe others as well) you will not have to install the Mach driver. This is an added benefit as it reduces the load on your PC.

Thanks for the quick answer and clearing up its uses for me.
Do you know what other devices can be used for motion control other than the Smooth Stepper?
Thanks,
Paul
