I draw my projects to scale in my CAD program, save it as DXF, export it into Lazy CAM and when it posts G-Code to Mach3, it comes out real small in Mach3.  Any suggestions here?  Thanks

CAD/CAM set to inches but Mach3 to mm?

Hi John.  When I used Mach3 begore with my mini mill, it w03ked in inches.  That is ok, I can draw in metric.  In motor tuning, I am using inches.

I just wondered if there was a units incompatibility leading to a 25.4:1 reduction in size.

Worth researching.

Post your g-code?  Have you checked the machine moves the commanded distance when you jog it or use the MDI?  AFAIK (just checked again) there's nothing in motor tuning to select inches or mm.  There is a "Steps per" box which is steps (including microsteps) per native unit - which are set in "config\native units".

John, I drew in Inches and just before saving the drawing as a DXFI converted to mm.  When I entered it in Lazy CAM, I changed scale from mm to inches and it worked ok that way.  That may have been the way I got around it before.
